THE PRODUCT CATEGORIES
This section of the website includes all the information to enable you to enter all of the product award categories of the Excellence In Housewares Awards 2024. These annual awards are open to all UK/Ireland based suppliers or distributors of products.
Entry and judging of all of the product categories will be completed online (this includes uploading imagery). This means that unlike other years, there is no need to send any physical samples of products. The awards are free to enter. You can submit entries into as many categories as well as make multiple entries into individual categories as you wish.
All entries will be judged online by an extensive panel of retail buyers.
The deadline for entries to all Product awards is Friday 21 June 2024.
For all the product categories entered online you will need to register and create a password. Once you have done this it will mean that you will be able to save your submission progress as well as go back and edit an entry right up until the deadline. Click on the relevant category box below to see the full criteria and begin your entry. (If you haven’t registered with a password already it will ask you to do this).

EXCELLENCE IN COOKWARE
Open to: All cookware and bakeware products in metals, glass, ceramic, silicone or any other material. To have been launched at retail between 18 June 2023 and 17 June 2024.
TOP TOOL OR GADGET AWARD
Open to: Any gadget, tool, utensil or range of the same – whether practical, aesthetic or fun (includes mills). To have been launched at retail between 18 June 2023 and 17 June 2024.
PLUGGED IN
Open to: SDA products whose use is typically concerned with the processing of food/drink. To have been launched at retail between 18 June 2023 and 17 June 2024.
CUTTING EDGE
Open to: All knives, scissors, cutting equipment, allied storage items, chopping boards and sharpeners. To have been launched at retail between 18 June 2023 and 17 June 2024.
EXCELLENCE IN HOMEWARES
Open to: Kitchenware products not covered in other categories that assist in preparation and storage of food and drink such as scales, measuring equipment, food containers, accessories including linens and food wrap. To have been launched at retail between 18 June 2023 and 17 June 2024.
EXCELLENCE IN HOME ORGANISATION
Open to: Ranges that help clean and organise the home. This includes floor care, laundry and cleaning products and tools including electrical, home storage across all domestic areas and organisational ranges such as dish racks, non-food containers and waste bins. To have been launched at retail between 18 June 2023 and 17 June 2024.
TOP OF THE TABLE AWARD
Open to: All tableware, glassware, tabletop accessories, serveware and tabletop textile products. To have been launched at retail between 18 June 2023 and 17 June 2024.
THE LICENSING AWARD
Open to: A specific product or range that is either officially licensed or celebrity endorsed. To have been launched at retail between 18 June 2023 and 17 June 2024.
THE INNOVATION AWARD
Open to: A new innovative product OR any innovation that demonstrates improved functionality to an existing product. Entries for this award can be entered in another product award category as well, but separate entries need to be made. To have been launched at retail between 18 June 2023 and 17 June 2024.
THE ECO AWARD
Open to: Products that cut down consumers' use of single-use plastic/waste and/or whose main features promote sustainable living. Products/ranges can be entered into this award as well as in another category. To have been launched at retail between 18 June 2023 and 17 June 2024.
THE ICON AWARD
Open to: Classic housewares products that have withstood the test of time. Products can only win this award once, after which they join the Icon Gallery. Examples of winners from this category include the Salter Disc Scale, Burton McCall Microplane Graters, OXO Good Grips Peelers, Kilner Jars, Thermos Flasks, and the Le Creuset Cocotte.
